Somehow, my felt designs typically include flowers. Whether it is the colors, soft textures, or the memories of flowers' sweet smells, I find myself going down this path. One of the pleasures of creating flowers is the opportunity to ruffle silk with wool to form petals, or to use a silk hanky to create a sheer look to the flower. The flower creations add depth and color and create patterns that flow. There are so many different ways to represent flowers that it is fun to find a new one. Leaves flow across the scarf and add movement to the design, sometimes leaving the scarf to hang as fringe or provide an interesting edge to the lines of the scarf. Sometimes feathers or plumes may add to the design as well.
